The StewardshipWorks! project aims to build capacity within the stewardship community by providing small core funding grants to stewardship and conservation organizations throughout BC. The project is currently in it's third year of a pilot program.

The following short video (6 mins) describes the StewardshipWorks! project, including the impacts and the importance of core funding to stewardship and conservation organizations.
37 people from key BC organizations that are involved in supporting stewardship came together on November 3 to celebrate the successes of the StewardshipWorks! program and to help set the course for increasing the capacities of the broader stewardship community. In addition, several people joined the meeting via the online web cast service that we provided. Participants represented funding organizations, government agencies, stewardship organizations, and private business. A full report of the workshop proceedings will be available here soon.

Funding for the workshop is provided by the Fraser Salmon and Watersheds Program.
Additional support is provided by the Pacific Western Brewing Co.

Please note that this report was developed for the November 2010 workshop, and is not a complete reflection of all the organizations' responses. A final report will be completed early in the new year 2011.
After an extensive evaluation process, the results of the first year of funding has been released.
Our capacity building initiatives build upon the Stewardship Works! program by looking at additional mechanisms to build capacity within the Stewardship Community. The following reports were produced in 2009, with funding from the Fraser Salmon and Watersheds Program.
